A Future Islands énekese a BadBadNotGood dzsesszlemezén +FRISSÍTÉS: a teljes IV album!
A tavalyi Szigeten is koncertező baltimore-i Future Islands indie pop trió higanymozgású frontembere, Samuel T. Herring az együttes legutóbbi kislemezkiadványa (The Chase/Haunted By You) óta eltelt egy évben a brit képzőművész-énekesnő Du Blonde debütalbumán énekelt duettet, megjelentetett egy EP-t a kaliforniai DJ-producer Madlibbel (Trouble Knows Me) és egy albumot The Snails nevű hobbizenekarával (Songs From The Shoebox), most pedig közös számot mutatott be a torontói BadBadNotGood dzsesszistáival (akik a Wu-Tang Clan-tag Ghostface Killah társaságában kiadott tavalyi Sour Soul után idén állnak elő negyedik sorlemezükkel).
A dob-basszus-billentyű alapfelállású fehér dzsessztrió létére fekete hiphop feldolgozásokkal (Odd Future, Waka Flocka Flame, A Tribe Called Quest stb.), majd konkrét Tyler, the Creator-, RZA-, Danny Brown– és DOOM-kollaborációkkal is meglepetést szerző BadBadNotGood az idei év elején egy gitáros bevonásával hivatalosan is kvartetté bővült, és július 8-ra már be is jelentette IV számú/című új albumát, melyen a szintén torontói dalszerző-énekesnő Charlotte Day Wilson és a haiti származású kanadai producerhaver Kaytranada mellett amerikai oldalról a rapper Mick Jenkins, a szaxofonos Colin Stetson és a már említett Sam Herring is közreműködik (neki már 2014-ben készítettek egy remixfeldolgozást a Seasons című Future Islands-slágerből, amit tavaly novemberben aztán együtt is eljátszottak egy koncerten – ahol a fenti nyitókép is készült).
A BadBadNotGood kvartett az új lemezről elsőként a Speaking Gently című instrumentális számot mutatta be. . .
. . . ez pedig már a Sam Herringgel közös Time Moves Slow, melynek Zane Lowe rádióműsorában tartották a dalpremierjét:
