Angel Olsen: Time Bandits – 11 perces új dal + George Harrison- és Bobby Vinton-feldolgozások

A 33 éves dalszerző-gitáros-billentyűs-énekesnő legfrissebb stúdiófelvétele a szeptember közepén bemutatott Kajillionaire című Miranda July-filmhez készített átdolgozása volt a Mr. Lonely című hatvanas évekbeli Bobby Vinton-slágerből, majd két hivatalos YouTube-koncertvideót is kaptunk tőle az új Whole New Mess album dalainak élő előadásával, most azonban egy egészen friss szerzeményét is hallhatjuk: az itt és most-ra (és egymásra) való koncentrálás fontosságáról szóló 11 perces Time Bandits című zongorás kompozió egy utazás után született, mikor Angel néhány hete visszalátogatott St. Louisba, a városba, ahol felnőtt.

Working on some covers, some expected, some not. This one’s been close to the heart lately. “I’ll be seeing you” Original music by Sammy Fain and lyrics by Irving Kahal. Published in 1938, it was inserted into the Broadway musical Right This Way, which closed after fifteen performances. Later made famous by Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, and my favorite jazz/ swing/ blues singer Mildred Bailey. – -Speaking of which, if you’re unfamiliar check out some of Mildred Bailey’s work.
