Arctic Monkeys: There’d Better Be A Mirrorball – klipdal az új The Car albumról

A 36 éves dalszerző-gitáros-énekes Alex Turner elmondása szerint a Holdra vizionált legutóbbi sci-fi varietélemez után az új albummal visszatérnek a Földre. A francia barátnője révén a Riviérán időző frontember a There’d Better Be A Mirrorball című nyitó kislemezdal borítóképének tükrös diszkógömb helyett ragyogó napfény csillogtatta tengert választott, míg az albumborítóra a Los Angelesben lakó dobos-vokalista Matt Helders fényképezett tetőparkolót a címbeli autóval. Matt szerint az új The Car nagylemez onnan folytatja, ahol a Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino abbahagyta, bár Alex hangosabb és dinamikusabb megszólálást ígér, az eddig bemutatott új szerzemények az előző album billentyűdús, kevésbé rockos vonalán maradnak a hatvanas-hetvenes évek esztétikájában, és az elidegenedés tematikája hűvös kozmikus dimenzióból melegebb atmoszférába átúsztatva is ugyanúgy dominál a szövegekben.

A dalszerző-frontember ismét a Simian Mobile Disco– és The Last Shadow Puppets-tag James Fordot kérte fel producernek, de a vonóshangszerelésbe a főleg filmzenés munkái révén ismert Bridget Samuelst is bevonta – a There’d Better Be A Mirrorball klipjét viszont egyedül rendezte.
