Billie Eilish: Bury A Friend +FRISSÍTÉS: Wish You Were Gay – újabb dal a 17 éves énekesnő első albumáról
A 2001. december 18-án született Billie Eilish amerikai énekesnő már 14 éves kora óta ad ki dalokat, és már 2017-es Don’t Smile At Me EP-jével felkerült a BBC Sound Of 2018 befutólistára, de első albumát csak most jelentette be. A 2019 márciusában érkező lemezen a Khaliddal közös Lovely duettje és a Roma című Alfonso Cuarón-film kísérőalbumához adott When I Was Older ugyan nem lesz rajta, de a borzongató videókat kapó You Should See Me In A Crown és When The Party’s Over mellé már itt a harmadik beharangozó dal is egy igazi horrorklippel.
A Los Angeles-i színész-zenész családban nevelkedett Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell, akit producer bátyjával, Finneas O’Connell-lel közösen írt és rögzített szintis alt-pop dalai Lorde-szabású karrierre predesztinálnak, vonzódik a sötét és bizarr dolgokhoz: gyakran énekel mentális problémákról, a tavaly nyári You Should See Me In A Crown videójában nagy pókok másznak az arcán és a szájában, az őszi When The Party’s Over kisfilmjében valami fekete folyadékot iszik meg és sír ki magából, a Bury A Friend című legújabb kislemez- és klipdalát pedig az ágya alatt rejtőző szörny szemszögéből írta meg („azt is bevallom, hogy én vagyok ez a szörny, merthogy én vagyok saját magam legnagyobb ellensége”) – és úgy döntött, hogy a március 29-én megjelenő When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? című debütalbumának alaphangulatát és borítóját is ez határozza meg.
A lemezbejelentés után néhány órával közzétett Bury A Friend videót Billie egy igaz horrorrendezővel, Michael Chavesszel készítette, aki A gyászoló asszony átka címmel áprilisban érkező első mozifilmje és a Démonok között sikerszéria 3. részének előmunkálatai között szakított időt erre a klipre, melyben a megszállott énekesnő mellett egy fiatal londoni rapper, Crooks (született: Calvin Adrian Parkinson, 1998) a másik szereplő.
