Black Midi: Welcome To Hell +FRISSÍTÉS: Eat Men Eat – újabb klip a Hellfire album és a Kolorádó-fellépés elé
A londoni art rock experimentalista Black Midi együttes a budapesti Dürer Kertben is bemutatott 2019-es Schlagenheim debütalbuma után a 2020-as karanténidőszakot a prózai és instrumentális tételekből álló Tales Of Suspense And Revenge kiadvánnyal bekkelte ki, majd 2021 májusában előállt Cavalcade című második nagylemezével, melyhez limitált példányszámban King Crimson-, Talking Heads-, Captain Beefheart-, Prince- és Taylor Swift-feldolgozásokat is mellékelt. Azóta egy év sem telt el, de a trió tagjai ma bejelentettek egy újabb albumot – a Kolorádó Fesztiválra ígért fellépésükhöz hasonlóan júliusi dátummal.
A basszista-énekes Cameron Picton, a gitáros-énekes Geordie Greep és a fekete dobos Morgan Simpson a harmadik Black Midi-sorlemezt Hellfire címmel adják ki július 15-én. „Ha a Cavalcade egy dráma volt, a Hellfire olyan lesz, mint egy epikus akciófilm!” – mondja a „fájdalom, veszteség és szorongás egymást átfedő témái” és „morálisan gyanús karakterek” köré épülő új albumról Geordie, aki saját bevallása szerint mindig imádta az olyan filmeket és egyéb műalkotásokat, melyek a Poklot ábrázolták. Cameron viszont fontosnak tartja leszögezni, hogy „azért rengeteg szeretet is van a Hellfire-ben. Mindegyik dalnak van gyengéd oldala is. A sötétség erősen jelen van, van Pokol és Sátán, gyilkosság és kellemetlen dolgok, de minden dalba jut világosság is a sötétség mellé.”

Az ismét Marta Salogni produceri segédletével felvett Hellfire nagylemez koncerteken már tavaly óta játszott dalai közül elsőként a Welcome To Hell című számot hallhatjuk stúdióverzióban, melyhez a svéd animátor-videorendező Gustaf Holtenäs készített klipet.
