A DIIV indie rock zenekar visszatérő dala után néhány órával a brooklyni színtér egy másik kiválósága, a Chairlift art-pop együttes egykori szintis-énekesnője, Caroline Polachek egyszerre két új számmal is előállt: az 1985-ös születésű művésznő a 2014-es Ramona Lisa-projektlemeze és a monogramja alatt kiadott 2017-es instrumentális CEP-albuma után csak idén kezdett rendes szólókarriert saját neve alatt, és a lenyűgöző júniusi Door klipdal mellé most két újabb felvételt is kaptunk tőle a Pang címmel várható őszi nagylemezéről.
Caroline az elmúlt évekbeli kollaborációinak sorában (Blood Orange, Beyoncé, SBTRKT, Sébastien Tellier, Delorean, Ice Choir, Fischerspooner, Charli XCX stb.) többször dolgozott már a brit PC Music kiadó producereivel, például Felicita tavalyi Marzipan klipdalában vagy Danny L Harle-lal az Ashes Of Love című 2016-os számban, sőt a Harle társszerző-produceri közreműködésével készülő szólóalbumáról ma közzétett két felvétel közül az Ocean Of Tearsbe még a PC Music-főnök A. G. Cook is besegített.
Az énekesnő elmondása szerint a Parachute-ot egy olyan álma ihlette, melyben meghalt, míg az Ocean Of Tears témája „az éles fájdalom, amit az ember akkor érez, ha olyasvalakibe szerelmes, aki távol van tőle – és az az őrjítő kétség, ami mindezzel jár”.
