Chan Marshall amerikai énekesnő, azaz Cat Power a negyedszázada tartó karrierjében saját szerzeményei mellett több mint száz feldolgozást adott elő, és fel is vett belőlük két teljes nagylemeznyit (The Covers Record – 2000, Jukebox – 2008), 2011-ben egyet még a Pearl Jam-vezér Eddie Vedderrel is (Tonight You Belong To Me), sőt Wanderer című idei visszatérő albumába is beillesztette egy 2012-es Rihanna/Mikky Ekko-duett zongorás átiratát, amihez klipet is forgatott (Stay). Most itt van tőle az a feldolgozás is, mely a lemez deluxe kiadásának bónuszdala lett.
Az idén 90 éves zongorista-komponista Burt Bacharach és a szövegíró Hal David (1921-2012) legendás párosának egyik leghíresebb szerzeményét, a felbolydult hatvanas években a vietnami háború idején íródott What The World Needs Now Is Love-ot eredetileg Jackie DeShannon amerikai énekesnő vitte sikerre 1965-ben, de azóta számtalan előadó vette át repertoárjába. Az 1972-es születésű Cat Power már fél évtizede rendszeresen játssza koncertjein a szeretet univerzális fontosságáról szóló easy listening slágert, és idén egy játékosan hangszerelt füttyös kis stúdióverziót is rögzített belőle: a Wanderer album vinyl kiadásának deluxe verziójához járó bónuszkislemezen a Lana Del Rey-jel közös Woman duett mellett ez lett a B-oldalas szám – és ma végre már digitális formátumban is felkerült a művésznő hivatalos YouTube-csatornájára.
