Chairlift: Polymorphing – klip az áprilisi búcsúkoncertek után feloszló együttestől
A Chairlift brooklyni art-pop együttes a harmadik albuma, a 2016 legjobb lemezei közt jegyzett Moth (meg az ahhoz még pluszban közzétett Get Real ajándékdal) után decemberben jelentette be feloszlását: a multiinstrumentalista Patrick Wimberly a jövőben zeneszerző-producerként folytatja pályáját (ebbéli minőségében már Solange tavalyi A Seat At The Table sikerlemezén is közreműködött több számban), míg a szintis-énekesnő Caroline Polachek a szólókkarierjére koncentrál, melyet a 2014-es Ramona Lisa-albummal kezdett, majd saját neve alatt folytatott (The Boy Who I’ll See Again), sőt idén januárban már előállt egy ingyenesen letölthető instrumentális lemezzel is (CEP: Drawing The Target Around The Arrow). A duó az április búcsúkoncertek elé ma még bemutatott egy utolsó klipet is a Moth album egyik dalához.
A Chairlift pont egy évtizede tűnt fel első felvételeivel, a Does You Inspire You című 2008-as első albuma idején még Caroline akkori pasijával, a gitáros-énekes Aaron Pfenninggel trióban üzemelt, majd 2010-ben duóra fogyott, de a 2012-ben megjelent Something így is az együttes csúcslemeze lett nyolcvanas éveket idéző szintis new wave hangzásával, amit a harmadik lemezen a modern alternatív R&B felé tolódott olyan dalokkal, mint a Ch-Ching, a Romeo vagy a Crying In Public, miközben az énekesnő nemcsak Beyoncének írt dalt (No Angel), de számos kollaborációban is részt vett (Blood Orange, SBTRKT, Sébastien Tellier, Delorean, Ice Choir, Danny L Harle stb.).
A Chairlift április 7. és 22. közt hét amerikai városba meghirdetett búcsúkoncert-sorozatához igazított búcsúklip, a szerelem hozta változásokról szóló Polymorphing videója, mely intim baráti körben mutatja Caroline-t és Patricket, itt látható:
