Chris Cornell: When Bad Does Good – videoklip az elhunyt Soundgarden-frontember fiával

Az egylemezes alapkiadásában 17, a négylemezes formátumban pedig 64 számot tartalmazó Chris Cornell gyűjtemény eddig hivatalosan kiadatlan felvételei között tíz koncertdal mellett a legnagyobb kuriózumot a stúdióverzióban előkerült When Bad Does Good című szerzemény jelenti, melynek létezésére az elhunyt énekes jó barátja, a filmsztár Josh Brolin hívta fel a box set összeállításán dolgozó özvegy, Vicky Cornell figyelmét. Ez a Chris Cornell-dal valamikor a 2010-es évek legelején születhetett, mivelhogy pár sora („when blood is raining down it cuts a deep river / and I’m diving„) átkerült a Soundgarden 2012 őszén megjelent visszatérő lemezének, a King Animal albumnak a By Crooked Steps című számába is.

A box set beharangozójaként már szeptemberben közzétett When Bad Does Good ma bemutatott klipjét egy régi ismerős rendezte: a nyolcvanas-kilencvenes években pazar klientúrájával (Iggy Pop, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Hole, Samshing Pumpkins, Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mazzy Star, Depeche Mode, Prince, R.E.M. stb.) elhíresült Kevin Kerslake, aki már a Soundgarden 1989-es Louder Than Love albumának Loud Love és Hands All Over című videóit is forgatta. Az új klip a dalszerző-énekes kamaszkori újságkihordó melóját idézi meg Christopher Cornell Jr. főszereplésével – ő a legkisebb Chris Cornell három gyermeke közül, akiket legutóbb apjuk múlt havi seattle-i szoboravatásán láthattunk együtt a Soundgarden-tagokkal.
