Chvrches & Robert Smith: How Not To Drown +FRISSÍTÉS: a Cure-főnök saját remixe a közös dalból
Az új Billie Eilish-klipdallal egy időben a skót énekesnő Lauren Mayberry együttese, a Chvrches is bemutatott egy új számot, de abban egy sztárvendég is akad. A glasgow-i trió 2018-as legutóbbi Love Is Dead albumára a National-énekes Matt Berninger ugrott be duettezni, a He Said She Said klipdallal felvezetett és 2021. augusztus 27-re bejelentett Screen Violence című negyedik Chvrches-sorlemezről viszont most egy olyan felvételt hallhatunk, melyben a Cure-frontember Robert Smith a közreműködő.
A Cure „majdnem kész” visszatérő lemezein („az egyik nagyon gyászos és sötét, a másik nem”) és egy negyedszázada tervezett szólóalbumon párhuzamosan dolgozó Robert Smith az utóbbi években énekelt Beatles-feldolgozást (Hello Goodbye), szerepelt az Orbital-tag Paul Hartnoll szólólemezén (8:58), a 2015-ös Eat Static-albumon, a Twilight Sad skót rockereivel közös kislemezt adott ki a 2016-os közös világturné előtt, közreműködött a Gorillaz tavalyi stúdióalbumának címadó Strange Timez dalában és néhány hónapja készített egy átdolgozást a Deftones-féle Teenagerből is. Most pedig a Twilight Sad egy hajdani zenészének, a billentyűs-gitáros Martin Dohertynek a szintipop sikerzenekarával jelentetett meg közös számot.
