DJ Shadow feat. De La Soul: Rocket Fuel – kollaboráció a DJ-producer közelgő új albumáról

A nyolcvanas-kilencvenes évek amerikai hiphopszínterén elhíresült De La Soul trió 12 év után, 2016-ban tért vissza új nagylemezzel (And The Anonymous Nobody… ) és rajta olyan vendégekkel, mint David Byrne, Snoop Dogg, a Little Dragon, a Darkness-frontember Justin Hawkins vagy a régi cimbora Damon Albarn – aki aztán a Gorillaz 2017-es Humanz albumára és budapesti koncertjeire is meghívta a vidám rappereket.

A De La Soul-tagok azóta feltűntek egy-egy számban a Los Angeles-i Oliver elektrofunk duó Full Circle lemezén és az angol producer-énekes Tom Misch 2018-as Geography debütalbumán is, idén pedig DJ Shadow készülő új anyagán is közreműködnek. „Általában próbálom elkerülni, hogy túlzásokba essek és nem is igazán kényelmes nekem a saját munkáimat hype-olni, de a dolgok tényleg elég izgalmasan alakulnak” – mondja a DJ-producer a még idén várható hatodik stúdióalbumáról, és annak most közzétett beharangozó számáról. „A nagy hőseim, a De La Soul-tagok voltak olyan kedvesek, hogy csatlakoztak hozzám a Rocket Fuel című első kislemezdalban, és ez a kollaboráció nagyon sok mindent magába foglal abból, amit a hiphopban szeretek. . . az energiát, az ütemeket és a bulit.”
