Az 1991-ben Harley Edward Stretenként született Flume a befutása után már rengeteg hírességet hívott 2016-os Skin című második albumára (Beck, Vince Staples, Raekwon, Vic Mensa, Tove Lo, Little Dragon stb.) és az azt kiegészítő Skin Companion EP-kre (Pusha T, Moses Sumney, Glass Animals stb.), majd 2019-2020 folyamán is volt még egy sor kollaborációja (London Grammar, Slowthai, SOPHIE, JPEGMAFIA, Toro y Moi stb.), és most a 2022. május 20-ra bejelentett Palaces című harmadik sorlemezén is számos jeles vendéghang szerepel a francia Oklou-tól a brit Laurelig és a Blur/Gorillaz-frontember Damon Albarnig.

Az amerikai Caroline Polachekkel (és hű segédjével, Danny L Harle producerrel) közösen írt és rögzített Sirens című legfrissebb beharangozó dalhoz ma érkezett klip Daniel Askill rendezőtől, Flume aktuális motorversenyző imidzséhez igazodva. A dalszerző-énekesnő elmondása szerint a Sirens cím a 2020-as járványhelyzet-karantén idején hallott mentőautó-szirénákra utal, és Caroline a videóban is mentőangyalként érkezik.
