Gorillaz feat. Robert Smith: Strange Timez – klipdal a Cure főnökével az új album bejelentéséhez
A Blur-vezér Damon Albarn 2020-ra tervezett The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows szólóprodukciója a járványhelyzet miatt 2021-re csúszott, de a Gorillaz idei Song Machine klipdalsorozata bővül tovább: a Slaves duó és Slowthai (Momentary Bliss), a mali énekesnő Fatoumata Diawara (Désolé), az ex-Joy Division/New Order-basszista Peter Hook és a doboslány Georgia (Aries), a francia-brit rapper Octavian (Friday The 13th) és az amerikai rapsztár ScHoolboy Q (Pac-Man) után most a hatodik részben a Cure-frontember Robert Smith a vendég.
A Song Machine eddigi öt epizódja (meg az április végén elhunyt nigériai The Good, The Bad & The Queen-dobos Tony Allen és a brit grime rapper Skepta közreműködésével májusban közzétett How Far? című kompozíció) után a Strange Timez című új számba beugró Robert Smith a legnagyobb sztárnév a Gorillaz idei kollaborációinak sorozatában, de az október 23-ra bejelentett Song Machine, Season One – Strange Timez albumon még olyan további előadókkal is hallhatunk majd közös dalokat, mint Beck, Elton John, St. Vincent, Joan As Police Woman, Moonchild Sanelly, GoldLink, JPEGMAFIA, Kano, az Unknown Mortal Orchestra vagy a Chai japán csajzenekar.
