Hot Chip: Spell – videoklip az új A Bath Full Of Ecstasy album eredetileg Katy Perrynek írt dalához
A múlt héten tragikus körülmények közt elhunyt francia producer Philippe Zdar (Phoenix, Franz Ferdinand stb.) nem csak saját Cassius együttese új Dreems albumának, de másik friss munkájának, az A Bath Full Of Ecstasy című Hot Chip-nagylemeznek a megjelenését sem érhette meg. A brit elektropop kvintett a 2015-ös Why Make Sense? albuma és két énekesének köztes szólóanyagai (Alexis Taylor: Piano, Beautiful Thing, Joe Goddard: Electric Lines) után állt elő hetedik sorlemezével, melyhez a Hungry Child és Melody Of Love videók mellé egy harmadik klip is érkezett.
A most először külső producerek – a francia Zdar és a skót Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, David Byrne, Sampha stb.) – segédletével dolgozó együttes szokásosnál eklektikusabb új albumán a Spell című szerzemény azért is különleges, mert Taylor és Goddard eredetileg Katy Perry számára írták (az amerikai énekesnő 2017-es Witness albumára adott Into Me You See-hez hasonlóan), ám végül megtartották Hot Chip-dalnak. A videót, melyben egy szexelő párra a saját hálószobájuk támad rá, Simon Owens rendezte, aki az elmúlt években már Alexis Taylor frontember So Much Further To Go és Oh Baby című videóit is jegyezte.
