Interpol: The Weekend – az ötszámos A Fine Mess EP-ről
A XXI. századi posztpunk revival New York-i csúcszenakarának számító Interpol tagjai – a dobos Sam Fogarino, a gitáros-énekes Paul Banks és a szólógitáros Daniel Kessler – egy éve a Flaming Lips-producer Dave Fridmann-nel való stúdiózásukkor nemcsak a tavalyi Marauder nagylemezre került dalokat rögzítették, de a session néhány félretett felvételéből is összeállt egy minialbum: az idén januárban közzétett Fine Mess kislemezdal után most a hasonló című ötszámos A Fine Mess EP-t is bejelentették, melyről már további szerzeményeket is hallhatunk.
A május 17-én érkező EP-re felkerül az élőben már játszott Real Life című dal is, és a mai lemezbejelentéshez is járt egy eddig publikálatlan szám: a 2018-as album nyersebb és agresszívabb vonalához jól illeszkedő The Weekend itt hallható (a borítóképhez pedig egy elhagyott detroiti rendőrőrsön talált fotók közül válogattak egy 1996-os betörés helyszínelésének anyagából).
