Jennylee: I’m So Tired – Fugazi-feldolgozás + Warpaint: The Brakes – filmbetétdal
Az amerikai Warpaint csajkvartett már dolgozik a 2016-os Heads Up nagylemez folytatásán, de a tagok tavaly külön is feltűntek itt-ott: Theresa Wayman gitáros-énekesnő az ír St Francis Hotel duó The Truth Is Dead című számában, a doboslány Stella Mozgawa a Queens Of The Stone Age-vezér Josh Homme új Desert Sessions-albumán, a basszista-vokalistanő Jenny Lee Lindberg pedig Trentemøller dán producer Try A Little klipdalában. Idén egy jennylee-szólókislemezt is kapunk tőle a Record Store Day-re, de közben már egy Warpaint-filmdal is érkezett.
A Lemezboltok Napja idén április 18-ra esik, és ez alkalomból Jenny Lee két kedvenc előadójától jelentet meg egy-egy feldolgozást: a tavaly elhunyt amerikai dalnok Daniel Johnston 1990-es Some Things Last A Long Time című szerzeményének átiratára még várnunk kell, de a legendás washingtoni poszt-hardcore zenekarnak, a Fugazinak a szintén a kilencvenes évekből származó I’m So Tired című meglepő zongoraballadáját már hallhatjuk a 38 éves művésznő finom (leginkább a Breeders/Pixies-vonalhoz illeszkedő) indie rock áthangszerelésében.
„Szeretem, csodálom és tisztelem a Fugazit teljes szívemből, mindig is ez volt a helyzet. Az I’m So Tiredben rejlő érzés mélyen megható és nagyon könnyű azonosulni vele. Nagy öröm és kellemes meglepetés volt számomra, hogy sikerült megcsinálnom, remélem, hogy méltó lett az eredetihez” – mondja Jenny Lee az itt hallható saját verziójáról, melyet már tavalyi Warpaint-koncertek ráadásszámaként is előadott.
