Kaiser Chiefs: Record Collection – az új Duck albumról
A Szigeten 2008-ben, 2011-ben és 2016-ban is koncertező Kaiser Chiefs leedsi indie pop zenekar tagjai a Stay Together című legutóbbi anyagukat három éve a Xenomania slágergyár igazgatójával, Brian Higginsszel készítették, de most bejelentett új nagylemezükön már újra a 2014-es Education, Education, Education & War albumuk és 2015-ös Falling Awake kislemezük producere, az amerikai Ben H. Allen III (Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Cut Copy, Belle And Sebastian stb.) segítette őket – miközben a legkorábbi sikeralbumaik zenei inspirációihoz is visszakanyarodtak.
„Meghallgattam az első néhány lemezünket újra. Egy csomó olyan dolgot hallgattam, amit akkoriban hallgattunk, mikor azokat az albumokat csináltuk, régi Motown-számokat meg hasonlókat” – mondja a 41 éves Ricky Wilson frontember a 2000-es évtized közepén készült platinalemezeikre utalva. A Duck címmel július 26-ra bejelentett hetedik Kaiser Chiefs-albumról elsőként a kellően slágeres Record Collection kislemezdalt hallhatjuk, mely az énekes elmondása szerint „az internetről szól, az internettel szembeni frusztrációról, hogy hogyan uralja az életünket, miközben nem igazán értjük, hogy mi is valójában, csak ráklikkelünk, hogy elfogadjuk.”
