Kasabian: ALYGATYR – új szám négy év után +FRISSÍTÉS: a kilépett frontember Tom Meighan első szólódala
A XXI. század legsikeresebb brit rockzenekarai közt jegyzett Kasabian a 2017-es For Crying Out Loud című hatodik sorlemezével 2018 őszéig koncertezett, majd a dalszerző-producer-gitáros-énekes Sergio Lorenzo Pizzorno 2019-ben The S.L.P. név/cím alatt adott ki szólóalbumot. 2020 júliusában jött a hír, hogy Tom Meighan frontember a barátnője bántalmazásáért bíróság elé került: bűnösnek vallotta magát, megúszta közmunkával, pénzbüntetéssel és rehabbal, de az együttesből távoznia kellett. A Kasabian 2021 októberében tért vissza a frontemberséget egyedül felvállaló Pizzornóval az élen – új turnéval és a ma egy friss kislemezdallal is.
A zenekarvezető és ritmusszekciója, a basszista-alapítótárs Chris Edwards és Ian Matthews dobos – hogy a sajtófotókon továbbra is négyen legyenek – felvették hivatalos tagnak a koncerteken már 2013 óta velük pengető Tim Carter gitárost, de az aktuális turnén a korlátozott énekhangú Pizzornónak plusz vokális támogatást nyújt a hajdani The Music-frontember és rendszeres The Streets-kollaborátor Rob Harvey is (aki szintetizátorosként és gitárosként is hozzájárul az élő hangzáshoz).

A 2011-es Velociraptor! album címadó dalára rímelő ALYGATYR (azaz Aligátor) címmel közzétett hibrid hangzású új szám – melyet a ma esti koncerten a zenekar szülővárosában, Leicesterben vélhetően élőben is bemutatnak – beleillik az eddigi Kasabian-kánonba, de egy irritáló autotune-os témával azért ki is lóg onnan.
