Az 1994-ben Karly-Marina Loaiza néven anyakönyvezett kolumbiai-amerikai R&B énekesnő Kali Uchis az elképesztő közreműködői gárdával (Gorillaz, Tame Impala, BadBadNotGood, Jorja Smith, Thundercat, Dave Sitek, Greg Kurstin, Bootsy Collins, Steve Lacy, Tyler, The Creator stb.) készített 2018-as remek Isolation debütalbuma után idén december legelején jelentkezett Solita című új szólódalával, és most máris itt van tőle egy újabb felvétel – a funkos elektronikában utazó haiti származású kanadai DJ-producer Kaytranada e heti meglepetésalbumáról.
A Thundercat társaságában készült fenti csoportkép jobb szélén látható Kaytranada (született: Louis Kevin Celestin, 1992) korábban is többször dolgozott együtt a virginiai énekesnővel, már annak 2015-ös bemutatkozó Por Vida EP-jén a Rush című számban és a 2016-os Only Girl kislemezén is (melyen az Internet-gitáros Steve Lacy és a rapper Vince Staples is közreműködött vendéghangként), továbbá volt egy Water To Wine című közös felvételük is, mely a DJ-producer 2016-os 99.9% debütalbumának 0.001% ??? című kiegészítő mixében szerepelt. A százalékos sort folytatva 10% címmel tegnap este bemutatott legújabb kollaborációjuk Kaytranada december 13-ra bejelentett Bubba című második albumát harangozza be, melyen Kali mellett Estelle, Tinashe, Charlotte Day Wilson, Pharrell, GoldLink és Masego is közreműködik egy-egy számban.
