King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard: Gila Monster – klip az új PetroDragonic Apocalypse albumról
Az ausztrál King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard pszichedelikus sztahanovistái 2017-ben öt albumot adtak ki (Flying Microtonal Banana, Murder Of The Universe, Sketches Of Brunswick East, Polygondwanaland, Gumboot Soup), aztán a következő öt sorlemezükhöz négy évre volt szükségük (Fishing For Fishies, Infest The Rats’ Nest, K.G., L.W., Butterfly 3000), 2022-ben viszont megint öt stúdióalbum érkezett tőlük (a Made In Timeland és az Omnium Gatherum március-áprilisban, októberben pedig Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms And Lava, a Laminated Denim és a Changes). Most egy 2023-as nagylemezt is bejelentettek egy klipdallal.
A június 16-ra ígért hétszámos (de vinyl kiadásán egy negyedórás bónuszfelvételt is tartalmazó) album teljes címe PetroDagonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation, ami alapján nem meglepő, hogy metállemez lesz, konkrétan a 2019-es Infest The Rats’ Nest lemez thrash metal hangzásához tér vissza. „Az emberiségről és a Föld bolygóról szól, de boszorkányokról, sárkányokról és efféle szarokról is” – summázza a multiinstrumentalista-producer-frontember Stu Mackenzie. A Gilla Monster című beharangozó dalhoz A Gyűrűk Ura ihletett klipjét SPOD projektnév alatt dolgozó elektro-rocker haverjuk, Brent Griffin rendezte, aki már a tavaly Iron Lung animációját is jegyezte.
