Samantha Urbani: Made In Love +FRISSÍTÉS: megamix Zoë Kravitz, Mac DeMarco és Twin Shadow szereplésével
A 2010-2013 közt aktív brooklyni Friends funkos art-pop zenekar egykori frontlánya, Samantha Urbani – akit akár „a kaliforniai Gwen Stefani keleti parti indie megfelelője egy generációval fiatalabb kiadásban” szlogennel is jellemezhetnénk – az évtized közepén főleg pasijának, a dalszerző-producer-énekes Dev Hynesnak, azaz Blood Orange-nak a társaságában dolgozott, majd szakításuk után, 2017-ben adta ki ötszámos első szóló-EP-jét Policies Of Power címmel. A dalszerző-énekesnő több mint két évvel később most egy újabb remek kislemezdallal jelentkezik.
A 32 éves Samantha a Made In Love című új számát a New York-i Teengirl Fantasy elektronikus popduó zenefelelősével, Nick Weiss hangmérnök-producerrel készítette, de nem rugaszkodik messzire a Blood Orange-esztétikától és az annak egyik pillérét adó Prince-féle funk-poptól. A dalban az énekesnő a szerelmet inkább térként, mint érzésként gondolja újra: „egy tér, ahol radikálisan őszinte, empatikus és önzetlen lehetsz: egy tér, ahol biztonságban érezheted magad, és újra feltöltheted az akkumulátorodat bizalommal és odaadással”.
