She & Him: (S)he Gives (Her)His Love To Me – új Zooey Deschanel-szerzemény hetero- és homoszex verzióban is

A Las Vegas-i központú MGM Resorts szálloda- és kaszinócég által finanszírozott Universal Love projektet az azonos neműek házasságkötéséhez találták ki: az április elején megjelent, majd a múlt hétvégi Record Store Day-re fizikai formátumban is kiadott Wedding Songs Reimagined (Újragondolt esküvői dalok) alcímű hatszámos minialbumon a jeles közreműködők – Bob Dylan, a Bloc Party-frontember Kele Okereke, St. Vincent, Valerie June, Kesha és a Death Cab For Cutie-főnök Ben Gibbard – híres szerelmes dalokat dolgoztak át homoszexuális irányúvá a hím- és nőnemű személyes névmások cseréjével. A most melléjük csatlakozott She & Him azonban nem feldolgozást, hanem egy saját szerzeményt rögzített a projekthez, és rögtön két változatban is, melyek csak a személyes névmásokban különböznek: a She Gives Her Love To Me illeszkedik a széria homoszexuális tematikájához, de Zooey Deschanel (akinek 2015-ben egy lánya és 2017-ben egy fia is született) az egyenlőséget maximálisan szem előtt tartva a dalszövegét heteroszexuális verzióban is felénekelte He Gives His Love To Me címmel.
