Sky Ferreira: Voices Carry – feldolgozás Aimee Mann hajdani ‘Til Tuesday zenekarától

A Night Time, My Time című 2013-as első nagylemeze óta szólóban egyetlen új szerzeményt sem kiadó (bár koncertjein több kiadatlan dalt is játszó) 1992-es születésű amerikai színész-énekesnő már 2015-ben beharangozott Guardian kislemeze és Masochism albuma még mindig nem jelent meg, ahogy a 2018 első felére beígért visszatérő EP és annak klipsorozata is várat magára – nyilván lemezcéges szerződési problémák állnak a háttérben, hiszen múlt hétvégén is arról panaszkodott egy Instagram-posztban, hogy nem tudja visszaszerezni hozzáférését saját hivatalos SoundCloud-oldalához. Ez utóbbi probléma szerencsére hamar megoldódott, és Sky örömében rögtön fel is töltött rajongóinak egy félkész stúdiódemót: mivel új saját számot szerződéses okokból nem tehetett ki, így egy élőben párszor már játszott feldolgozást kaptunk az 1960-as születésű amerikai dalszerző-gitáros-énekesnő Aimee Mann hajdani ‘Til Tuesday együttesének 1985-ös Voices Carry című Top 10 slágeréből.

Hi! Thanks to my fans & soundcloud for helping me get my login back so quickly. I wanted to post something now that it’s back in my hands. Here’s a cover of ~Voices Carry~. I’ve played it live a few times this year. It’s always been one of my favorite songs but it’s kind of deeply personal to me,lyrically. I recorded this in one day when a engineer had a room at Sunset Sound available.He let me use the studio for free as a favor, some of my friends came in and played the bass/guitar/drums for me after calling them 45 minutes before asking if they could try playing random stuff for me to work with/write on. Nobody has produced it (except me… I guess but this version isn’t produced or mixed.It also doesn’t have the synths & guitars I added today. I am out of the country so my computer keeps crashing.)I didn’t want to wait until I was back to upload something. I have no idea what this sounds like in speakers either lol. This is what I call the infant demo because it’s basically the scratch demo since it hasn’t really been worked on & what not. It’s also the only thing I can post without getting in trouble by other people involved on other songs.I promise I will be posting a lot more stuff on here & will let you know more about my album. I always feel a lot more comfortable sharing music related things here instead of Instagram etc

Hey @soundcloud I can’t access my own account that I started & uploaded everything myself. I ended up bamboozled.I was forced/told I had no choice to hand over my account information to my label after my album came out. They gave me the wrong information & changed it so I can no longer access it. The person who changed the login is unreachable & the contact no longer exist. I need it back ASAP. I earned the hundreds of thousands of people that follow the account without my label & have never had help/paid for anything on social media or whatever. I think of soundcloud as the website that allows musicians to have freedom. Please help xx SKY FERREIRA PS: I would like to clarify I have always done all of my work directly & by myself. No “team” has ever uploaded (or anything else under any circumstance) my stuff for me whatsoever.
