The Smashing Pumpkins: Cyr +The Colour Of Love – két új popdal, az elsőhöz videoklip is

Az 53 éves multiinstrumentalista-producer-dalszerző-énekes Corgan a 2018-as nyolcszámos nagylemezt nem tartja igazi,  egységes visszatérő albumnak (inkább csak egy időben készült dalok gyűjteménye), de a 2019-2020 folyamán  – country-folk/Americana beütésű tavalyi szólólemezéhez hasonlóan nagyrészt Nashville-ben – felvett huszonvalahány új Smashing Pumpkins-számról egy idei interjúban úgy nyilatkozott, hogy azokból már tényleg egy igazi, koncepciózusan szerkesztett, filmszerűen megközelített, klasszikus (vélhetőleg dupla) album áll majd össze.

A dupla leosztást sejtetve a mai napon egyszerre két új szerzeményt is kaptunk, melyek jóval lényegre törőbbek és slágeresebbek, mint a zenekar korábbi dalai, nyolcvanas éveket idéző new wave-es szintetizátorrétegekkel, sőt hangsúlyos női vokálokkal is, melyeket két Smashing Pumpkins-turnézenész, Sierra Swan és Katie Cole szolgáltat (az előbbi a 2016-2017-es turnén volt basszista-billentyűs-vokalistanő, az utóbbi 2015 óta játszik billentyűs-énekesnőként a koncerteken).

Az itt hallható Cyr és The Colour Of Love című új dalok közül az előbbihez videoklip is készült, melyet szintén egy hajdani Smashing Pumpkins-koncertközreműködő, a kétezres évtizedben Billy mellett többször vokálozó Linda Strawberry rendezett – és magyar idő szerint ma délután 3 órától látható itt:
