St. Vincent, Kali Uchis, Diana Ross és a Tame Impala a Minyonok: Gru színre lép filmzenelemezen

A Diana Ross/Tame Impala-kollaborációról már tavaly érkeztek hírek, de idén május elején egy poszterről derült ki, hogy a közös felvétel egy teljes album része lesz, mely a szemüveges sztárproducer Jack Antonoff felügyeletével készült – pár nappal később pedig már hivatalosan is bejelentették, hogy a Minyonok: Gru színre lép filmzenelemezéről van szó.

A nagy sikerű animációs széria 2022. június 30-án mozikba kerülő legújabb filmjének kísérőalbumára Antonoff főleg hatvanas-hetvenes évekbeli slágerekből (Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang, Sly & The Family Stone, The Carpenters, Santana, Steve Miller Band, Simon & Garfunkel, John Lennon, Linda Ronstadt stb.) rögzített feldolgozásokat – saját Bleachers együttese mellett olyan előadókkal, mint Kali Uchis, Brittany Howard, Caroline Polacheck, Weyes Blood, Phoebe Bridgers, H.E.R., Tierra Whack, Thundercat, Gary Clark Jr. vagy a Brockhampton rapperei, sőt maga a hetvenéves Earth, Wind & Fire-basszista Verdine White is közreműködött pár számban.

St. Vincent ma közzétett átirata a minneapolisi Lipps, Inc. diszkó-funk formáció 1979-es debütalbumán szereplő, majd 1980-ban slágerré lett Funkytownból:
