A színész-énekesnő Suki Waterhouse friss Local Natives- és Belle And Sebastian-kollaborációi
Az 1992-es születésű angol modell-színésznő Suki Waterhouse – akit több mozifilm (The Bad Batch, Gyilkos nemzedék, Creation Records – A történet stb.) után idén a Daisy Jones & The Six tévésorozatban a címbeli fiktív hetvenes évekbeli zenekar billentyűs-vokalistanőjeként is láthattunk – dalszerző-énekesnőként 2016 óta jelentet meg kislemezeket, tavaly a Sub Pop kiadónál állt elő I Can’t Let Go című debütáló albumával, idén nyáron pedig két jeles indie pop együttes, a skót Belle And Sebastian és az amerikai Local Natives társaságában is kiadott közös felvételeket.
A gitáros-énekes Taylor Rice és a billentyűs-gitáros-énekes Kelcey Ayer frontemberpárosa által vezetett Los Angeles-i Local Natives már korábban is előszeretettel dolgozott együtt énekesnőkkel: a Cardigans-díva Nina Perssonnal felvett 2016-os Dark Days dalukból 2020-ban a Sylvan Esso-frontcsaj Amelia Meath társaságában készítettek új verziót (ami legsikeresebb kislemezüknek bizonyult), a szintén 2020-as Sour Lemon EP-jükre pedig Sharon Van Ettennel írtak és rögzítettek egy Lemon című duettet. Az idén júliusban megjelent ötödik albumuknak, az art-rock sztárproducer John Congleton segédletével készült Time Will Wait For No One-nak az egyik kulcsdalából, az NYE-ből is kedvük támadt egy férfi-nő duettverziót készíteni, amihez a szintén Los Angelesben élő Suki Waterhouse-t hívták vendégnek. Augusztus 1-jén a zenekar koncertjén a számot eredeti pörgős tempójában adták elő együtt, de a most hétvégén egy videóval közzétett új stúdióverziót visszafogottabbra és akusztikusabbra hangszerelték át.
