Superorganism ft. Stephen Malkmus & Dylan Cartlidge: It’s Raining +FRISSÍTÉS: Into The Sun – újabb klipdal a Pavement-frontemberrel

A dalszerző-gitáros-énekes Malkmus 1989-1999 közt működő, majd évtizedenként egy-egy turnéra összeálló (a 2020-ra, illetve 2021-re meghirdetett, ám a járványhelyzet miatt elmaradt aktuális reunion fellépéseit 2022-es nyári-őszi koncertkörútján bepótló) legendás lo-fi/indie rock zenekara meghatározó kedvence volt a Superorganism-alapítóknak, a hangszeres tagok The Eversons nevű korábbi együttesének is és a 22 éves japán énekesnőnek, Orono Noguchinak is. A Cut Your Hair című 1994-es Pavement-slágert fel is dolgozták 2018 tavaszán a debütalbumuk megjelenésekor, most a 2022. július 15-re bejelentett World Wide Pop című második nagylemezükön pedig már személyesen is szerepeltetik Stephen Malkmust, egyszerre két számban. Az egyikben a francia popcsaj Pi Ja Ma, azaz Pauline de Tarragon és társszerző-zenész-producere, Alex Concato mellett a híres japán színész és dalszerző-énekes Gen Hoshino is hallható (Into The Sun), míg az It’s Raining című másikban az 55 éves Malkmus és a pont fele annyi idős Dylan Cartlidge a két vendéghang, sőt még a 2019-ben elhunyt Scott Walker is énekel benne a címadó hangminta formájában (az 1969-es It’s Raining Today dalából).

A Portland városában élő Pavement-főnökhöz és az Észak-Angliából származó bozontos rapperhez egyaránt jól illik az esőtematika, és az dominál a hiphop alapú It’s Raining vonatos videójában is, melyet a Teenager kliphez hasonlóan ismét a berlini animátor-rendező AEVA (Dan W Jacobs) jegyez – ezúttal a tokiói illusztrátor Risa Kazama rajzaira építve.
