Sylvan Esso – klipdalok az új Free Love albumról + Foals-remix a Local Natives-kollaborációjukhoz
A legszimpatikusabb csaj+pasi duók közé tartozó amerikai Sylvan Esso párost a Mountain Man nevű indie folk lánytrió egyik énekesnője, Amelia Meath és a finom elektronikával dolgozó producer Nick Sanborn (Made Of Oak) alkotja. Idén a Wye Oak– és Bon Iver-tagokkal kibővülve készített With koncertalbumuk és -filmjük, továbbá a Los Angeles-i Local Natives indie pop zenekarral közös Dark Days című számuk (és annak friss Foals-remixe) után most egy új stúdiólemezt is bejelentettek két beharangozó klipdallal.
Az észak-karolinai Durham városában élő zenészházaspár első két sorlemeze, 2014-es Sylvan Esso és a legjobb dance/elektronikus zenei album kategóriában Grammy-jelölést kapó 2017-es What Now után Amelia visszatért anyazenekarához, a tradicionális folk hangzású Mountain Man csajtrióhoz, hogy elkészítsék 2010-es Made The Harbor debütlemezük folytatását – a 2018 őszén megjelent Magic Ship felvételein Nick is segédkezett társproducer-hangmérnökként, majd cserébe a másik két Mountain Man-tag, Molly Sarlé és Alexandra Sauser-Monnig is beszállt vokálozni a Sylvan Esso jeles zenészhaverokkal kibővített 2019-es turnéjára.
Amelia és Nick a turnét megörökítő With koncertanyag után egy új stúdióalbumot is felvettek: a 2020. szeptember 25-re bejelentett Free Love című harmadik Sylvan Esso-sorlemez elmondásuk szerint „arról szól, ahogy egyre jobban megrémít minket a körülöttünk lévő világ, és inkább befelé nézünk, hogy emlékezzünk mindazokra az alkalmakra, amikor még olyan egyszerűnek tűnt másokat szeretni – és hogy hogyan találhatunk vissza arra a helyre.”
Az új album bejelentéséhez a múlt hétvégén közzétett What If című másfél perces nyitódal után ma érkezett meg a Ferris Wheel klipje:
