The Avalanches: Music Makes Me High + Take Care In Your Dreaming (feat. Denzel Curry & Tricky)

Az Avalanches fenti negatívon látható két DJ-producer alaptagja, Robbie Chater és Tony Di Blasi az új album fő inspirációjaként a csillagász Carl Sagannak és feleségének,  a producer-írónő Ann Druyannak a szerelmét nevezték meg, no meg persze az általuk készített – idegen civilizációknak szánt üzenetekkel, képekkel és zenékkel teli – arany lemezt, melyet a NASA 1977-ben a Voyager űrszondákkal indított útnak a Naprendszer elhagyására.

Szóba került, hogy Ann Druyan felvesz narrátorszöveget is az album dalainak átkötéshez, de végül csak egy fotója került a borítóra.

We’re very happy to share with you the cover for our new album, „We Will Always Love You”. Designed by our dear friend Jonathan Zawada, the sleeve features Ann Druyan, (Creative Director of the Voyager Golden Record Project) , who’s cosmic love story inspired this music. In keeping with the album’s theme of everlasting love as an undying vibration, Ann’s image was run through a spectograph, turned into sound, and back again. The image remains hidden, deep within in the grooves of the music, for you to discover if you wish. An exploration of the vibrational relationship between light, sound and spirit, „We Will Always Love You” will be available for pre-order next week, with more details to follow soon. A 25 számos lemezről a mai napon egyszerre két újabb dalt is közzétettek: a harlemi East Coast Inspirational Singers gospelkórussal felvett Music Makes Me High az amerikai dalszerző-producer-énekes Nelson “Salty” Miller azonos című 1980-as felvételére épül. . .

. . . a Take Care In Your Dreaming című szám pedig az album két Tricky-kollaborációjának egyike, melyben a floridai sztárrapper Denzel Curry mellett az Ausztráliában élő zambiai rapper-énekesnő Sampa The Great (született: Sampa Tembo, 1993) a női hang, a zongoratémát pedig a Los Angeles-i billentyűs John Carroll Kirby (Solange, Frank Ocean, Blood Orange, Moses Sumney, Connan Mockasin, Mark Ronson, Sébastien Tellier stb.) játszotta fel hozzá.
