The Last Dinner Party – klipdalok a londoni art-rock csajzenekartól

A gitáros-vokalista Lizzie Mayland és a basszista Georgia Davies egyetemi tanulmányaik első hetében találkoztak a katolikus iskolából érkezett Abigail Morris énekesnővel, a szólógitáros-fuvolista Emily Roberts és az albán származású billentyűs-mandolinos Aurora Nishevci pedig a patinás The Guildhall School Of Music And Drama hallgatóiként csatlakoztak hozzájuk. A járványidőszak végén 2021/2022 telén kezdtek koncertezni The Dinner Partyként (már rögtön egy tavaly februári klubkoncertjük félórás YouTube-videója izgalmat keltett a brit lemezcégeknél, melyek közül az Island kiadót választották), de egy évvel később a Last szócskát is beillesztették nevükbe, hogy ne lehessen összekeverni őket Kamasi Washington, Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper és 9th Wonder tengerentúli hiphop-dzsessz szupergruppjával, a Dinner Partyval.

A hetvenes évtizedbeli barokk pop, glam és art-rock teátrális géniuszai, a Sparks, a Queen, David Bowie és főleg Kate Bush, meg az ő XXI. századi követői – a fentebb már említett Florence + The Machine vagy Marina And The Diamonds – által megihletett, de némi Siouxsie And The Banshees-féle gótikus/posztpunk beütéssel is bíró The Last Dinner Party-lányoknak zenén kívüli inspirációik is bőven akadnak a XIX. századi romantikus irodalomtól és ruhaviselettől az Öngyilkos szüzek és Csábítás című Sofia Coppola-filmeken át a magyar származású kanadai divatfotós-rendező-vizuálművész Petra Collins esztétikájáig. Ezek mind együtt vannak az eksztatikus szerelmes hangvételű Nothing Matters című első klipdalban, melyet a szövegíró frontlány és társnői még első (hímnemű) koncertdobosukkal, a hangmérnök Rhys Downinggal együtt komponáltak, de a stúdióban már a producer James Ford dobolásával (meg rézfúvósokkal és a hárfás Serafina Steerrel) rögzítettek, a videót pedig Saorla Houston észak-ír rendezőnővel forgatták hozzá.
