The Strokes: The Adults Are Talking – videoklip Roman Coppola rendezésében
A Strokes együttes a 2013-as Comedown Machine nagylemezéhez csak egyetlen klipet volt képes forgatni (annyit 2016-ban a negyedakkora Future Present Past EP-hoz is sikerült a Threat Of Joy videóval), de az idei The New Abnormal albumhoz már rendesen készülnek kisfilmek: az év eleji At The Door és Bad Decisions, meg a nyári Ode To The Mets után most a lemezt nyitó The Adults Are Talkinghoz is kaptunk videót – és ugyanaz a Roman Coppola rendezte, aki a zenekar 2001-2003 közti első öt klipjét (Last Nite, The Modern Age, Hard To Explain, Someday, 12:51).
A mozióriás Francis Ford Coppola leszármazottai közül az 1965-ös születésű Roman is forgatókönyvíró-rendező lett, akárcsak húga, Sofia Coppola, illetve unokahúguk, Gia Coppola, de Pillantás Charlie Swan képzeletébe című 2012-es második nagyjátékfilmjének bukása óta inkább tévésorozat-epizódokat és reklámokat rendez, meg klipeket is ritkán, de most a régi haver Julian Casablancas felkérésére elvállalta, hogy 17 év után újra a Strokesnak forgasson.
Az új albumról a nyitódalnak választott The Adults Are Talking volt az legelső szám, ami élő ősbemutatót kapott már egy tavaly tavaszi koncerten, és most másfél év után lett egy klipje is (a legutóbbi Ode To The Mets videóhoz hasonlóan ismét a New York-i zenészek baseball iránti rajongásából kiindulva) .
