Twin Shadow: Broken Horses – új EP dominikai hangzásokkal

„A ház, ahol felnőttem, a dominikai édesanyámnak köszönhetően tele volt olyan latin zenékkel, mint a bachata vagy a merengue. Mióta szüleim nyolc évvel ezelőtt visszaköltöztek Santo Domingóba, jobban fel akartam fedezni ezt a fajta zenét” – mondja Twin Shadow, aki már az októberi Hollow Days kislemezdalával is jelezte, hogy szülőhazájának, a Dominikai Köztársaságnak a hangzásai felé fordult, és most az új számában is hallható például a bachata nevű helyi gitáros tánczene jellegzetes fémhenger-ritmushangszere, a güira. „Amikor meglátogattam a szüleimet Santo Domingóban és eltöltötem egy kis időt San Cristobal vidékén is, ahol a nagymamám felnőtt, készítettem egy új verziót a Broken Horses című dalomból. Ez számomra most a következő fázis: keverni az amerikai típusú dalszerzést a Dominikai Köztársaságra jellemző bachata gitárokkal és güirákkal.”
