Twin Shadow – újabb klipdalok a dominikai-amerikai producer-énekes ötödik albumáról

A saját friss felvételei mellett a Xiu Xiu avantgárd-experimentalistáinak idei OH NO duettlemezén is közreműködő Twin Shadow a részben a dominikai FAMA Studióban felvett új albumán a hetvenes évtized soul-funk és punk aranykorát kívánta megidézni a Sly And The Family Stone-tól a Clash-ig, a dalszövegekben önéletrajzi ihletésű és teljesen fiktív történeteket variálva.

„Egészségesek voltunk és úgy néztünk ki, mint egy hetvenes évekbeli pornósztár páros” – nosztalgiázik nyitásként a Németországban játszódó Alemania című áprilisi kislemezdal (melyben az amerikai soul gitáros-énekesnő Kadhja Bonet a vendéghang), míg a májusi Get Closer a szerelem komplexebb aspektusait boncolgatja, most június második felében pedig egyszerre két új szerzeményt is kaptunk Sugacane és Lonestar címmel: az előbbiről Lenny Kravitz pszichedelikus soul balladái juthatnak eszünkbe, míg a klip nélkül közzétett utóbbi szám egy B-oldalas dub-reggae popdal.
