Egy magyar művésznek akkor sikerül itthon igazán, ha külföldön már sikerült. Ackermann Rita egy nemzetközi művészeti magazin címlapjáról mosolyog. New Yorkban, választott otthonában sikert sikerre halmoz. Ismert rocksztárok tartják kezükben képzőművészeti katalógusait, a Sonic Youth zenélt esküvőjén, egyéni kiállításai között szerepel a neves Museum of Contemporary Art of Florida és számos más művészeti központ szerte a világban. A Zürichben, Londonban és New Yorkban tevékenykedő pártfogó Hauser & Wirth lecsapott a kiváló tehetségre, akit az ember egy punk lánybanda frontlányának is simán el tudna képzelni.
Rita volt punk lánybanda frontcsaja. És volt örökké optimista 26 éves, és szerencsére az is maradt, mint a legkiválóbb nők a világon. (Bakos) Rita tudja, hogy a mosoly és a szexualitás értéke örök. Fiatalon tart. Pontosan tizenkilenc évvel azután, hogy a New York-i Hanes Foundation által életben tartott Képzőművészeti Főiskolára cserélte az Academy of Fine Arts, „Bjú-dö-peszt” kiváló termeit, megcsodálhatták nagyméretű, érett munkáit az itthon ragadt rokonok is. A Ludwig múzeum egész emeletet szánt Rita egyéni kiállításának. Azóta Rita hangosan száguld az univerzumban és csöndesen fest New York-i otthonában. Egy kicsit nekünk, egy kicsit a világnak, nagyon magának. Kompromisszumok nélkül, a saját, teljesen egyedi felfogásában.

A Hungarian artist makes it in Hungary, if she made it somewhere else first. Rita Ackermann smiles at you from the cover of an international arts magazine. Her story is a great one. In her new home New York she is pictured with rockstars holding her own art catalogues, Sonic Youth was the band at her wedding, solo exhibitions of hers include the Museum of Contemporary Art of Florida and many other well-known art centres around the world. The Zürich, London and New York based gallery Hauser & Wirth adores Rita’s talent and takes it for granted that she could be easily the front girl of a punk band.
And she was. Rita is an eternal optimist, always 26 years old, similar to the greatest women in history. Rita (Bakos) is in the possession of something extraordinary. She knows that smiling and sexual power are perpetual. Precisely 19 years after the date she exchanged the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts for The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture (Hanes Foundation) she was offered a great solo exhibition in one of Hungary’s most important Museums of Contemporary Art (Ludwig Museum Budapest). Ever since then Rita continues to shout around the universe with her paintbrush and intimately creates great pieces of art in her New York studio. She does it somewhat for us, somewhat for the planet, but mainly for herself. She does it without any compromise in her absolutely own way.
