Years & Years: Crave – klipdal Olly Alexander új Night Call albumának bejelentéséhez
Az angol színész-énekes Olly Alexander harmincévesen új fejezetet nyitott: idén főszereplőként tért vissza a nyolcvanas évekbeli AIDS-tematikájú It’s A Sin tévésorozattal, Years & Years nevű elektropop trióját pedig szólóprojektté alakította át, és Starstruck című áprilisi slágerét már úgy vitte sikerre (azóta Kylie Minogue- és Elton John-duettekkel meg Lady Gaga- és Lil Nas X-feldolgozásokkal is jelentkezett). A budapesti Sziget-koncerteken is bemutatott 2015-ös Communion és 2018-as Palo Santo albumok (meg egy 2019-es Pet Shop Boys-kollaboráció) után ma bejelentette a Night Call című harmadik Y&Y-nagylemezt is egy újabb klipdallal.
„A Night Call volt a menekülésem volt az elmúlt pár évben, minden frusztrációmat, magányomat, reményemet, kanosságomat, bánatomat és optimizmusomat beletettem egy igazán szórakoztató lemezbe, amire táncolhatok” – mondja az ifjú melegikon a 2022. január 7-re várható harmadik Years & Years-albumról, melyet ezúttal is nagyrészt Mark Ralph producerrel írt és rögzített. A lemezbejelentéséhez Olly a korábbi toxikus kapcsolataira viccesen kacsintó Crave című számot Tom Beard rendező kellően excentrikus klipjével mutatta be – ami nem meglepő módon párhuzamba állítható egy általa nemrég feldolgozott sikerdalnak, a meleg rapper-énekes Lil Nas X nagy vihart kavaró Montero (Call Me By Your Name)-jének a videójával.
